8 indicted over murders of four Habiganj children

A Habiganj court has accepted the charges against eight people in connection with the killing of four children at Sundratiki village in Bahubal upaizla of Habiganj.

District and Sessions Judge of Habiganj M Atabullah, also the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge, passed the order on Wednesday noon.

The court also fixed September 26 for hearing on the case.

Of the accused, five were present before the court during the charge framing hearing while three are on the run. The absconded are: Ustar Mia, Belal Mia and Babul Mia.

Earlier on February 17 this year, four schoolboys were found buried at Sundrateki village in Bahubal upazila, barely a week after they had gone missing.

On April 4, police pressed charges against nine people in the case of killing of four schoolboys. Meanwhile, an accused Baccu Mia was killed in ‘gunfight’ with police.
