Kerry sends gifts for Rawshan Ershad

The US Secretary of State John Forbes Kerry has sent some gifts for Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Begum Rawshan Ershad.

 

Deputy Political and Economic Councilor of US Embassy in Dhaka David Tulloch handed over the gifts to Rawshan on behalf of John Kerry at her residence in Gulshan today, a press release of Leader of the Opposition's Office in Parliament said here this afternoon, reports BSS.

 

John Kerry arrived in the city from Geneva on August 29 on a nine-hour whirlwind visit.

 

"The US Secretary of State sent the gifts for you as goodwill gesture," said David Tulloch while handing over the gifts to Rawshan Ershad.

 

She received the gifts with earnestly and she also sent some gifts for John Kerry through the US Embassy official.

 

Describing US as the trusted friend of Bangladesh, Leader of the Opposition urged the US government to continue its support for the development initiatives of Bangladesh government especially in the fields of raising employment opportunities, infrastructure development and tackling climate change challenges.
