PM mourns deaths, injuries at Tongi factory fire

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock at the deaths and injuries in a boiler explosion in a factory at Tongi BSCIC Industrial Estate in Gazipur today.

In a condolence message, the premier prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved families, BSS reports.

Sheikh Hasina also wished early recovery of the injured people and asked the authorities concerned for providing better treatment to them.

At least 21 people were killed and over 50 injured as a fire broke out apparently due to the boiler explosion at a packaging industry at Tongi on the outskirts of the capital early today, fire service and hospital officials said.
