Syed Ashraf leaves for London Friday

Awami League's outgoing general secretary and Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam is going to London tomorrow (Friday).

A flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines is scheduled to take off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for London at 9:50am tomorrow carrying Syed Ashraf, newly elected member of Awami League's advisory council.

S Sajjad Hossain Shahin, assistant private secretary of the veteran Awami  League leader, confirmed the matter to Samakal on Thursday.

"His family is in London, and his wife is sick now. Prime Minister granted a 15-day leave for him. So, he is going to London for family affairs," said Sajjad Hossain.

Syed Ashraf served the AL as its general secretary since 2007. He has just been replaced by Obaidul Quader as the general secretary at the party’s 20th national council held on Oct 22- 23.
