AL announces full-fledged central committee

The ruling Awami League on Saturday noon announced its full-fledged central committee a week after holding its 20th National Council.

Prime Minister and President of AL Sheikh Hasina approved the committee last night in its presidium meeting at Gonobhaban in the city.

Awami League office secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap said the list of full-fledged central committee has been published through a press release.

Sheikh Hasina approved the central working committee members, advisory council members, nomination board members at the first meeting unanimously, Golap said.

The advisory council members are Dr SA Malek, AMA Muhith, Amir Hossain Amu, Tofail Ahmed, Suranjit Sengupta, Md Ishaq Miah, Md Rahmat Ali, HT Imam, Dr Moshiur Rahman, Prof Dr Alauddin Ahmed, Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, Raziuddin Ahmed Razu, Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, Barrister Shafique Ahmed, Syed Abu Nasor, Satish Chandra Roy, Prof Abdul Khaleque, Dr AFM Ruhal Haque, Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmad, Syed Rezaur Rahman, Dr Anupam Sen, Prof Hamida Banu, Prof Md Hossain Mansur, Prof Sultana Shafi, AFM Fakhrul Islam Munshi, Ambassador Mohammad Zamir, Golam Mawla Nakshabandi, Dr Mirza MA Jalil, Dr Pranab Kumar Barua, Maj Gen (retd) Abdul Hafiz Mallik, Dr Saidur Rahman Khan, Dr Gowhar Rizvi, Prof Khondokar Bazlul Haq, Md Rashidul Alam, Architect Yeafesh Osman, Kazi Sirajul Islam, Mokbul Hossain and Chowdhury Khaliquzzaman.

The AL on Saturday also disclosed names of 28 members of the central working committee and three names against the posts of agriculture secretary, forest secretary and deputy publicity secretary.

The new agriculture secretary is Faridunnahar Laily, while the forest secretary is Delwar Hossain and the deputy publicity secretary is Aminul Islam.

The 28 members of the central working committee are Abul Hasnat Abdullah, Md Momtaz Uddin, Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Quamrul Islam, Nurul Majid Humayun, Khairuzzaman Liton, Simeen Hussain Rimi, Begum Monnuzan Sufian, Nurul Islam Thandu, RAM Obaidur Muktadir Chowdhury, Dipankar Talukder, Badruddin Ahmed Kamran, Akhteruzzaman, SM Kamal Hossain, Mirza Azam, Advocate Nazibullah Hiru, Amirul Islam Milon, Prof Rafiqul Islam (Moulvibazar), Golam Kabir Rabbani Chinu, Adv Reazul Kabir Kawser, Parvin Zaman Kalpona, Anwar Hossain, Iqbal Hossain Opu, Merina Jahan, Dr Shammi Ahmed, Marufa Akter Popy, Barrister Biplob Barua and Vice Principal Remondo Aarang.

On the last day of its 20th council on October 23, Awami League announced the names of 16 presidium members, four joint general secretaries and one treasurer of its new central committee.

Newly elected AL general secretary Obaidul Quader on October 25 unveiled the names of 22 more members of its new central working committee secretaries, including eight organising secretaries.
