Khaleda asked to defend herself Nov 24 in Zia charitable trust case

A Dhaka court on Thursday set November 24 for self-defence statement of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.

Judge Abu Ahmed Jomadar of the Dhaka Special Judge’s Court-3 ordered the BNP chief to appear before the court on that day and present her self-defence statement.

The court also set November 17 for recording testimony of another witness in Zia orphanage trust graft case.

Khaleda Zia appeared before the court in the morning.

On August 8, 2011, the Anti-Corruption Commission filed the Zia Charitable Trust graft case with Tejgaon police station accusing four people, including Khaleda Zia, of abusing power in raising funds for the trust from unknown sources.
