DU BCL leader shot

A Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader sustained bullet injuries as a group of miscreants shot him in front of Banbeis office at Sonargaon Road in Dhaka early Sunday.

The injured BCL leader was identified as Jubayer Ahmed, vice president of Dhaka University (DU) unit of BCL.

Quoting witnesses, sub-inspector Debraj of Shahbagh Police Station said, Juber along with his two friends was returning to DU campus from Palashi intersection riding a bike at night.

When they were passing by Banbeis office in the area, a private car waylaid the motorcycle around 1.00 am.

Later, the miscreants shot Jubayer at the thigh, leaving him seriously injured.

Jubayer was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), the SI added.
