Ashkona raid: ‘4 militants’ surrender, 3 still inside

Four suspected militants of the house at Ashkona of capital’s Uttara area, which the law enforcers cordoned off, have surrendered.

Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) cordoned off the house early Saturday and latter conducted a raid.

DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia told journalists at the spot that the four militants came out of the house around 9:00am and surrendered.

Three other militants are still staying inside, said the DMP boss adding that they are repeatedly asked to surrender but the armed militants are threatening the law enforcers.

Those who surrendered are- Jebunnahar Shila, wife of ex-army Major Zahid, who was killed in a 'gunfight' with law enforcers at Roopnagar in the capital on September 2 last, her daughter and wife and daughter of Neo JMB leader Musa, police said.
