More grenades found at Ashkona militant den

Police on Sunday morning raided the militant den at Ashkona in capital’s Uttara area again.

The bomb disposal team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has also started their operation.  

The team saw five grenades including two unpinned and two live suicide vests inside the room, said Proloy Kumar Joardar, deputy commissioner of CTTC.

The ground floor flat of the house used as militant den is in volatile condition as gas is coming out of one of the rooms where the body of the militant Afif Kaderi is still lying.

Shakira, a female militant, blew herself up and a teenage boy Afif Kaderi, son of deceased ‘Neo JMB’ leader Tanvir Kaderi, killed himself in suicide blast during a raid, codenamed Ripple 24, at a house in Ashkona yesterday.
