2 women remanded over Ashkona raid

Two women who surrendered to police during the recent Ashkona raid have been remanded for seven days.
The remanded are- Jebunnahar Shila, wife of ex-army Major Zahid, who was killed in a 'gunfight' with law enforcers at Roopnagar in the capital on September 2 last and her daughter and wife of Neo JMB leader Musa named Trishna Moni.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Meher Negar Suchona passed the order after conducting a hearing in this regard on the day.
Earlier two people killed themselves in suicide blasts to evade arrest during a police raid on a militant den at Ashkona in capital’s Uttara area on December 24.
Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) had started the raid at the three-storey house named ‘Surjavila’ early on the day while they ended the drive around 3:45pm in the same day.
