Power generation to reach 24,000 MW by 2021: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said the government has set a goal to generate 24,000 MW of electricity by 2021 and 60,000 MW by 2041, aiming to benefit all the people of the country.

The Prime Minister came up with the information while addressing the inaugural ceremony of 'Power and Energy Week 2016' at InternationalConventionCity, Bashundhara in the city, UNB reports.

She also urged people from all walks of life to ensure the economic use of power, gas and water both at their homes and workplaces. "All must make the efficient use of power, water and gas," she added.
