Charge sheet in Gulshan attack case soon: IGP

The charge sheet in Gulshan terror attack case will be made soon, Inspector general of police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque has said.

The police chief said this while talking to reporters after attending an international conference on ‘Terrorism in the Wave of Islamic State’ at Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University today. Department of Criminology organized the event.

“The killing of top Neo JMB leader Nurul Islam Marzan who was the mastermind of the attack will not affect the case,” he said.

“Now, we have enough information and most of the militants involved in the attack have been arrested while others killed in gunfights with law enforcers,” the IGP said.

Marzan was involved in militant attacks carried out in Dhaka’s Gulshan and Sholakia in Kishoreganj, said the IGP.

Marzan and his associate Saddam were killed in a gunfight with members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) at Beribadh in the city's Mohammadpur area early Friday.
