Major (redt) Rashid dropped from 5 invited citizens

Country’s security expert Major General (redt) Abdur Rashid has been dropped out from the 5 noted invited persons who were requested to attend a meeting with the search committee, formed to constitute the Election Commission.

 

The search body dropped him out from the invitation as a case had been filed in connection with the money embezzlement against him.

 

Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam, has confirmed in this regard to Samakal.

 

‘As he is accused in the case, he has been dropped out from the meeting,’ the cabinet secretary added.

 

The meeting is scheduled to be held on Wednesday (tomorrow).

 

Earlier the search Committee invited five noted citizens of the country for a view-exchange set to be held on the day.

 

The four other noted citizens are former Chief Election Commissioner Mohammad Abu Hena, Daily Samakal Editor Golam Sarwar, Daily Star Editor Mahfuz Anam, Barrister Rokon Uddin Mahmud.
