Suranjit hospitalized

Veteran Awami League leader Suranjit Sengupta has been admitted to Dhaka’s Labaid hospital in ‘critical condition’.

He was taken to the coronary care unit (CCU) of the hospital on Saturday night, Suranjit’s personal assistant Kamrul Haque said.

"Right now he is critical and we are trying to move him to Singapore for better treatment through air ambulance" he added.

Lawmaker from Sunamganj-2, constituency for seventh time Suranjit, 71, had been suffering from respiratory problems for several months.
