President mourns Suranjit’s death

President Md Abdul Hamid today expressed profound shock at the death of veteran politician and parliamentarian Suranjit Sengupta, BSS reports.

“Suranjit Sengupta was not only a political leader but also a veteran parliamentarian . he played a significant role in framing the county’s first constitution,” the president said in a condolence message.

He added that the people will remember Suranjit Sengupta for his outstanding contribution to the country’s parliamentary politics.

“The death of this veteran parliamentarian is really an irreparable loss to the country’s political arena,” he added.

The President prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Awami league Advisory Council Member Suranjit Sengupta, MP, died of lung cancer at a city hospital early today at the age of 71.
