Mayor Miru sent to jail

Sirajganj’s Shahjadpur municipality mayor Halimul Haque Miru- Samakal
Sirajganj’s Shahjadpur municipality mayor Halimul Haque Miru, the main accused in the journalist Abdul Hakim Shimul murder case, was sent to jail on Monday.
A Sirajganj court has sent the mayor to jail.
Judge Morshed Alam of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Sirajganj has passed the order this afternoon.
Producing him before the court, the police sought a seven-day remand plea for the municipal mayor.
The court also fixed February 13 to hear the remand plea, in this connection, says Md Ataur Rahman, GRO of the court.
Earlier the Sirajganj's Shahjadpur municipality Mayor Halimul Haque Miru was held in connection with the murder of Samakal's Shahjadpur Correspondent- Abdul Hakim Shimul.
The police members detained the Mayor from capital’s Shyamoli area around 9.45pm on Sunday.
The passport number of Miru, who allegedly shot dead daily Samakal's Shahjadpur Correspondent was also blocked.
