Arafat Sunny denied bail, to stay in jail

The national team cricketer Arafat Sunny has to stay in jail as a Dhaka court here today denied bail for him.

 

Cyber Crime Tribunal Judge KM Shamsul Alam has passed the order after a hearing in this regard on Wednesday.

 

Police arrested cricketer Arafat Sunny under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act after a woman filed a case accusing him of posting offensive photographs using a fake facebook account.

 

According to police sources, Arafat Sunny has recently married the woman who filed the case against him without informing family members but he refused to take her with the family.

 

On January 5, one woman named Nasrin, who claimed to be his wife, filed the case under the ICT Act accusing Sunny of posting offensive photographs using the fake facebook account.

 

Police arrested the national cricketer from Aminbazar area of Savar upazila on January 22.

 

After the arrest, Nasrin also filed another case against Sunny claiming that he sought Tk 20 lakh dowry.
