Journalist Shafik Rehman was barred to go abroad on Thursday (today).
The immigration police at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital did not allow him to go abroad, says Horipad Das, the personal assistant of the journalist.
According to the personal assistant, the journalist was scheduled to fly for London by a Turkish Airlines this morning to see his sick wife there.
Seeking anonymity, one of the immigration police, also confirmed in this regard to Samakal.
He has no bar to go abroad and the authorities have also returned his seized passport recently, Horipad Das, added.
