Bulu among 35 BNP men face arrest warrants

A Dhaka court on Thursday issued arrest warrants against 35 leaders and activists of BNP including Barkatullah Bulu in an arson case.

Metropolitan Session Judge Quamrul Hossain Mollah passed the order after accepting the chargesheet against 47 leaders and activists of BNP.

The court also asked the officer-in-charge concerned to submit a progress report on it on April 5.

BNP leaders Barkatullah Bulu, Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Selima Rahman, Maruf Kamal Khan, Mir Sarafat Ali Sapu and Azizul Bari Helal were among the 35 accused.

Among the 47 chargesheeted accused, 13 BNP leaders, including MK Anwar, Amanullah Aman and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, secured bail in the case.

Police filed a case against 47 BNP men for torching a vehicle in Dhaka’s Paltan area in January 2015.
