Charge sheet over Gulshan attack by 2017-end: Monirul

The chief of DMP’s counterterrorism unit, Monirul Islam, today said that the charge sheet in Gulshan terror attack case would be placed before the court by the end of 2017.

 

The DMP boss said this while chatting with journalists at the DMP media center in the capital on Friday.

 

Charge sheet in Gulshan terror attack case will be made soon, Inspector general of police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque, said in January this year.

 

The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit Chief Monirul Islam, earlier, revealed that the financers in the Gulshan terror attack were identified.

 

On July 1 evening, in last year, seven gunmen stormed the Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka and opened fire and took around 40 people, including restaurant staff and guests -- both locals and foreigners -- hostage.

 

Twenty hostages -- nine Italians, seven Japanese, one Indian, one Bangladeshi American and two Bangladeshis -- were killed in the terror attack on that night.
