Intern doctors continue strike for 2nd day

Intern doctors of some medical college and hospitals including Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College are continuing strike for second consecutive day causing sufferings to the patients.

Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital director Brigadier general AFM Rafiqul Islam claimed that the service has not interrupted due to the stike.

The hospital's Intern Doctors Council president Shafiqul Islam Apu said they are observing the programme demanding withdrawal of punishment against four intern doctors of Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College.

However, Health minister Mohammad Nasim on Saturday termed the strike 'very sad'.

Last month, a video went viral in social media when it was seen that a patient's relative beaten and insulted. Later, the ministry punished four intern doctors after investigating the matter.
