Explosives tied to check post attacker’s body: RAB

Three bombs and a suicide vest have been recovered from the bag of the man who tried to attack on the check post of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in the city's Khilgaon area, the elite force claimed.

Explosives were tied to the body of the bomb-carrying man, RAB-3 Commanding Officer (CO) Lt Col Tuhin Mohammad Masud told Samakal today.

Among the bombs, there is a big size handmade one, said the RAB official adding that works is underway to deactivate the bombs.

“The motorcycle used in the attack has no number plate. So, we are not sure whether it is registered or not," he said.

Alongside from where he came and where he was going, RAB could not know the identity of the attacker, Tuhin Masud added.

Earlier in the day, RAB gunned down the attacker when he was trying to attack their check post in Shekher Jaiga area of the city's Khilgaon.

The attacker riding a motorcycle made the attack on the RAB-3 check post with explosives which also left two members of the elite force injured.
