Appeal verdict of blogger Rajib murder April 2

The appeal verdict (death reference) of the murder case of blogger and Ganajagaran Mancha activist Ahmed Rajib Haider will be pronounced on April 2.

The appellate bench of Justice Jahangir Hossain and Justice Md Jahangir Hossain passed the order on Monday.

Hearing of the case started on November 7 last year.

Earlier on December 31, 2015, a Dhaka court rewarded death penalty to two people and jail terms for different periods to six people in the murder case.

The court handed death penalty to former private university students, Md Faisal Bin Nayem alias Dweep and absconding Redwanul Azad Rana. They were also fined Tk 10,000 each.

On February 15, 2013, Ahmed Rajib Haidar, an activist of Ganajagarn Mancha, was stabbed to death near his house at Mirpur Palash Nagar in the capital.
