PM pays homage to Queen Elizabeth II, signs condolence book

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II by placing a wreath at her portrait in the British High Commission in this city.

The British High Commission opened a condolence book after the Queen passed away there on September 8. The Prime Minister signed it.

The deputy press secretary for the prime minister, Hasan Jahid Tusher, later briefed the media.

After placing the wreath in front of the Queen's portrait, the Prime Minister remained in solemn silence for a moment to show her respect for the late monarch, he said.

The Premier spoke about some of her happy memories of the Queen after writing her name in the condolence book.

Robert Chatterton Dickson, the British High Commissioner, welcomed the Prime Minister earlier at the high commission's offices.

The High Commissioner truly appreciated the Prime Minister's visit to the High Commission to honor the Queen.

The nation's Prime Minister is making his first-ever formal trip to the British High Commission in Dhaka.

The Prime Minister's Principal Secretary, Dr. Ahmad Kaikaus, and the Military Secretary, Major General Kabir Ahammad, were also present.
