Malaysia-bound trawler sinking: 24 sued, 6 arrested

A case has been filed against 24 people, including the Rohingyas, in the incident of the sinking of a trawler carrying Rohingyas bound for Malaysia in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf. 

Baharchhara Investigation Center SI Husna Mubarak filed the case with Teknaf police station on Tuesday night.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Teknaf Model Police Station Hafizur Rahman said that in the case, 24 people have been accused, including 10-15 unknown accused.

The main accused in the case is Shahid Ullah, son of Hasan Ali of Katabnia, Teknaf Sabrang. 

So far, six people detained from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning have been shown arrested.

A trawler sank in the Teknaf Bay of Bengal off Cox's Bazar during an illegal sea voyage to Malaysia early Tuesday morning. So far, four bodies, including three Rohingya women and a child, have been recovered. Coast Guard rescued 45 people alive in this incident.
