24 activists of Chhatra Odhikar Parishad sent to jail

The court has sent 24 activists of Chhatra Odhikar Parishad to jail in two cases filed by Chhatra League.

Magistrate Shahidul Islam of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court of Dhaka gave this order on Saturday.

At the same time, the court fixed the bail hearing of 24 leaders and activists of Chhatra Odhikar Parishad on October 11.

Hemayet Uddin Khan, the public counsel of the court, confirmed these facts to the media.

Mojahidul Islam, the lawyer of the accused, told the court that some of the arrestees are sick. 

When their medical application was informed, the court ordered to provide medical treatment as per prison rules, he added.

Earlier, 24 leaders and activists of Chhatra Odhikar Parishad were produced before the court by the police of Shahbagh police station.
