Gaibandha-5 by-elections postponed

Gaibandha-5 (Phulchari-Saghata) by-elections have been declared postponed.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal told reporters this information on Wednesday afternoon.

After observing the general situation of the by-elections sitting in the monitoring cell of Gaibandha-5 Constituency in the Agargaon election building of the capital, he gave this information to the journalists around 2:30pm.

The CEC had earlier told reporters that the by-elections had gone out of control.

He said, "We have seen with our own eyes that some people entered the secret room to vote violating electoral rules."
