RAB arrested a fugitive who had been sentenced to life in prison in connection with the murder of Biswajit Das ten years prior.
Mosharraf Hossain alias Abdullah (33), according to Fazlul Haque, senior assistant director (media) of Rab-2, was captured in the Gulshan neighborhood about 6:00am on Sunday.
Mosharraf, a native of the Kishoreganj district, had missing since since Biswajit (24), a BCL activist, was fatally hacked on December 9, 2012, in broad daylight.
The man was traveling to his tailor store in Old Dhaka when the BNP staged a nationwide roadblock.
Eight defendants were given death sentences in 2013 and 13 received life sentences by Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-4.
On August 6, 2017, the High Court modified the death sentences of four death row inmates to life in prison, acquitted two others, and affirmed the death sentences of two of the eight death row inmates.
