Actor Masum Aziz passes away

Masum Aziz, Ekushey Padak winning actor and screenplay writer, has passed away on Monday afternoon.

The veteran actor breathed his last today at 3:30 pm, at Square hospital in the capital, said Aziz’s son   Utshob Jamal.

He is survived by his wife and two children. 

Masum Aziz famed on stage, television and films arenas, was suffering from cancer, and cardiac issues for a long time. 

On Thursday, he was taken on life support after his health deteriorated. 

In 1972, Masum Aziz started his journey as an actor. 

He has been honoured with the National Film Award for his performance in "Ghani" in 2006. 

The government awarded Masum Aziz the Ekushey Padak this year for his contribution to acting.
