Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) on Wednesday filed final report in the case filed over alleged rape and subsequently murder of college student Mosarat Jahan Munia, 21, in the capital's Gulshan area.
The investigation officer in his report pleaded to relieve all the eight accused including Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir from the charges of the case as the allegations brought against them were found to be false, sub inspector of court's GR wing Saifur Rahman told BSS.
"The report was placed before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Shakil Ahammed and the court sent the matter to Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-8," he said.
Police recovered the body of Munia from an upscale flat on House-19 on Road-120 in Gulshan on April 26, 2021.
Victim's elder sister Nusrat Jahan Tania filed the case with Gulshan Police Station on September 6, 2021. Accepting the case, Dhaka District and Sessions Judge Begum Mafroja Pervin ordered PBI to probe and submit a report.
