Members of the Rapid Action Battalion arrested a fugitive who had been given a life sentence in the 2010 murder of tailor Biswajit Das.

Khandaker Mohammad Younus Ali (36), according to Fazlul Haque, senior assistant director (media) of Rab-2, was captured yesterday (October 31, 2022) at around 11:45 am in the Kellapur neighborhood of Narayanganj.

Since Magura native Biswajit (24), who was slain by a hacksaw in broad daylight on December 9, 2012, he has been missing.

The BNP set up a nationwide traffic block as the man was making his way to his tailor shop in Old Dhaka.

In 2013, Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 sentenced eight accused to death and 13 to life imprisonment. The convicts later appealed against the verdict.
