Another police officer sent into forced retirement

Ali Hossain Fakir, the former commanding officer of Armed Police Battalion-3, was forced into retirement on the grounds of public interest.

The Public Security Division of the Home Ministry circulated a circular on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the circular, Ali Hossain most recently worked for the Rajshahi Range Police.

Three superintendents of police and two additional deputy inspector generals were forced to retire by the ministry on October 18 and October 31 respectively.

The ministry issued a circular by invoking section 45 of the Bangladesh Service Rules, 2018.

The provision stipulates that, with the president's approval, the government may retire an employee in public interest after 25 years of service without giving a reason.
