Wholesale electricity prices increased

Electricity price has been increased by 19.92 percent at the wholesale level.

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) chairman Md Abdul Jalil announced the price increase around 12 noon on Monday.

At the wholesale level, the price of electricity per unit has been fixed at Tk6.22, which was earlier Tk5.17.

These prices will be effective from December and will remain in effect until further notice.

The BERC took the decision in view of review application of Bangladesh Power Development Board (PDB) to increase wholesale electricity prices.
