Probe report in Tipu-Preeti murder case Jan 11

A Dhaka court has set January 11 next for submitting probe report in a case lodged over the sensational murder of Awami League leader Jahidul Islam Tipu and college student Samia Afrin Preeti in the city's Shahjahanpur area.

The fresh date was fixed as the investigation officer of the case failed to submit the report set today.

Tipu, who was on his microbus destined for his home, was shot dead by a masked assailant in the capital's Shahjahanpur area at the night of March 24 last.

Samia Afran Preeti, a passenger in a rickshaw, died in the tragedy as well.

On March 25, Farhana Islam Dolly, Tipu's wife, filed a case with the Shahjahanpur Police station.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch (DB) held main accused Masum Mohammad, also known as Akash, in Bogura. Masum confessed to killing Tipu during the initial interrogation.
