After saying the death of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Fardin Noor Parash as 'suicide', the students held a two-hour discussion with Additional Commissioner of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Mohammad Harun Or Rashid.
After the meeting, on behalf of the students Tahmid Hossain told reporters, “They have shown us the evidence. The evidence seems relevant to us. They have put a lot of effort behind the work. There may be some gaps in some areas. Hopefully they will go further with these in the future. They have also given us an assurance in this regard.”
When asked if he is satisfied with DB's explanation, another student said, "We are very satisfied with their cooperation. They are doing a lot of efforts. We are not saying anything final. We will discuss the details with everyone back at BUET.”
After the meeting, DB chief Harun told reporters, “We have been able to convince them that the incident was suicide. They also understood the matter.”
Meanwhile, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Fardin Noor Parash's father Kazi Nooruddin Rana said his son cann’t commit suicide.
He claimed, “My son was killed in a planned manner. After the planned murder, now the drama of suicide is being arranged.”
“I will protest, I will protest 100 times. My son cann’t commit suicide,” he told reporters while talking to them on Thursday.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the investigation, Kazi Noor Uddin said, "My sons have grown up in poverty. Coping with all kinds of situations my son can't commit suicide.”
