Int'l Conclave on Materials, Energy & Climate begins at DU

A two-day International Conclave on 'Materials, Energy and Climate' has begun at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University (DU)  on Monday . 

Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni virtually inaugurated this conclave as chief guest while DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal addressed it as special guest.

DU Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (ACCE) Department and International Association of Advances Materials, Sweden organized this conclave marking the Golden Jubilee of ACCE Department.

According to Dr. Dipu Moni, the Bangladeshi government has taken a number of practical steps to combat the negative effects of climate change. She noted that Bangladesh has great success saving human life from flood, cyclone, drought, and other natural calamities under the energetic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The gathering included participants from domestic and international organizations, researchers, educators, and students.

Presided over by the chair of the organizing committee of the conclave Prof. Dr. Rafiqul Islam the inaugural function was addressed by Chairman of the Department of ACCE Prof Dr Md Nurnabi and Magsaysay Awardee Dr. Rajendra Sing.
