Today marks the beginning of a special campaign for the fourth dosage of the Covid-19 vaccination.

At 9:00 am, Kurmitola General Hospital in Dhaka hosted the campaign's official launch by Ahmedul Kabir, director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to the DGHS, those over 60 who have already gotten their third Covid vaccination will be immunized as part of this campaign.

Frontliners, expectant mothers, immunocompromised persons, and residents aged 18 and over suffering from chronic conditions would also be given the vaccination during the campaign, said a circular signed by Shamsul Haque, member secretary of Covid-19 vaccine management taskforce committee.

Freedom fighters, employees of the health ministry, its partner organizations, and authorized private healthcare organizations, all employees of the government, private, and autonomous organizations, law enforcement and military personnel, journalists, bank employees, national team members, and other frontline workers are among those considered to be on the frontlines.

The campaign will only use Pfizer vaccine, and vaccinations will be administered in nationwide permanent immunization facilities.

According to the DGHS, there are about 1,000 such centers across the country.
