7 instructions for Agargaon-Diabari residents, businesses

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the much-awaited Diabari-Agargaon section of MRT-6 Metro rail at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city on December 28.

The premier will travel from Agargaon to Uttara on the metro after opening the service, first of its kind in Bangladesh.

In a bid to ensuring the security of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, police have imposed seven requirements on locals and businesses along the Agargaon to Uttara Diabari metro rail route, according to Abdul Halim, assistant commissioner (Pallabi zone) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

The following conditions are stated in a police notice:

1. No new tenant can move into any building or flat along the route before December 29. 

2. No new offices, shops, or restaurants can open in commercial spaces of any buildings along the route until December 28.

3. Residents have been asked not to dry clothes or stand on balconies of buildings adjacent to the route on the day.

4. No photos and festoons can be hung in any building.

5. No one can stay on any commercial spaces and in hotels on December 28.

6. If there is any legal arm in any building or flat, it has to be surrendered to police stations concerned by December 25. 

7. All banks and ATM booths on both sides of the route will remain closed from the morning on the day.

The metro service for commoners will be available from December 29.
