Here comes the metro train

The metro rail officially ran towards Agargaon with passengers from Diabari (North) station in the capital.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, cabinet members and invited guests are the passengers of the first metro rail journey.

Today at around two o'clock, the metro rail officially started its journey with passengers.

At around 1:40 PM, the Prime Minister waved the green flag and started the official journey of Bangladesh's first metro rail.

Before that, the Prime Minister bought Metro rail tickets (cards). She is accompanied by her younger sister Sheikh Rehana. She also bought a ticket.

However, common passengers will be able to board the metro rail  from 8 am on Thursday.

The first train reached Agargaon station at 1:12pm.
