PM releases postage stamp on metro rail opening

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has released a special commemorative postage stamp, marking the country's historical journey into the metro rail era.

The premier unveiled the commemorative postage stamp, the opening day cover and the data card, at the inauguration ceremony of the country's first-ever metro rail at Diabari in the city's Uttara on Wednesday.

Sheikh Rehana, the younger daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and only sibling of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, attended the event as a special guest.

The occasion called for the usage of a unique canceller.

The first-day cover, postage stamp, and data card will be offered in the Dhaka GPO's Philatelic Bureau and then at other GPOs and head post offices around the nation.
