Wasa MD's 14 residences in US: HC seeks an update on investigation's status

The High Court has sought an update from the Anti-Corruption Commission's (ACC) on its investigation into two allegations against Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Wasa) Managing Director Taqsem A Khan for buying 14 houses in the United States.

The court asked the ACC to report about the progress within 15 days.

Following a report on this topic published in the Bangla daily Samakal, the HC bench of Justices Md. Nazrul Islam Talukder and Khizir Hayat Lizu issued the spoken order on a suo moto (voluntary) motion.

Khurshid Alam Khan, an attorney for the ACC, presented the news article to the HC bench for further instructions.

According to Khurshid Alam Khan, he previously informed the ACC about the HC order.
