5 arrested for spreading rumours on banks and financial sectors

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Detective-Cyber and Special Crime Uttar Division has arrested five people for spreading rumours about banks and financial sector.

The arrestees are - Mohammad Noor Un Nabi, Md Afsar Uddin Roman, Md Abu Said Saju, Md Swadhin Mia and Md. Abdus Salam.

DMP Additional Commissioner of Police (Detective) Mohammad Harun Or Rashid gave this information in a press briefing held at DMP's media center on Monday.

He said that DMP's social media crime investigation team arrested them from various areas of the capital on Sunday.

In the press conference, the DB chief also mentioned that various circulars have been issued by Bangladesh Bank to keep the general public aware of all kinds of rumours.
