3 CMP constables in hospital after being shot during training exercise

Three policemen, including a woman constable, were shot during the annual firing training at the Police Special Training School (PSTS) at Betbunia in Kaukhali upazila of Rangamati.

Additional Inspector General of Police in charge of Bethbunia Police Special Training School (PSTS) Abdus Sobahan said the injured have been admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

According to police sources, “A team of Chittagong Metropolitan Police went to Betbunia Police Special Training School on Tuesday morning for annual fire training. They also started regular firing training. Nargis Akhter (6151), a woman constable of Chittagong Police Lines, suddenly turned around and fell when she started firing. At that time, the weapon in his hand turned and fired, hitting three policemen.”

Female Constable Minu Ara of Chittagong Pahartali Police Station, (4708), Constable Abhi Barua (5126), and Suman Khan (4493) of Baklia Police Station were shot.

Minu Ara was injured in the shoulder, Suman Khan in the left leg and Abhi Barua in the right hand.
