Bangladesh is researching US Indo-Pacific Strategy: Momen

Prior to the arrival of US diplomat Donald Lu, Bangladesh's Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said that the country is prepared to take whatever steps are necessary for the welfare of the people.

He emphasized that the government is still looking into the issues related to the US Indo-Pacific Strategy (IPS).

He informed reporters when talking about the IPS and its economic component.

Donald Lu, who began serving as the Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs on September 15, 2021, is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on January 14 after finishing his tour to India.

Donald Lu will talk about a range of topics, including energy, trade, coordination of security measures, freedom of religion, employment, and human rights.

He will meet with senior Bangladeshi government officials and members of the civil society, according to the US Department of State, to discuss expanding their bilateral ties, growing economic involvement, and learning about their perspectives on labor and human rights.

According to Momen, both the US and Bangladesh are committed to democracy and human rights.
