6 Rajakars of Trishal to die for war crimes

The International Criminal Tribunal (ICT) has sentenced six fugitive Razakars of Trishal area of Mymensingh to death in the case of crimes against humanity during the liberation war.

A three-member bench led by ICT Chairman Justice Md Shahinur Islam passed the verdict.

ICT Prosecutor Mokhlesur Rahman Badal confirmed this information to The Daily Samakal.

The two members of the judges' panel are- Justice Md Abu Ahmed Jamadar and Justice KM Hafizul Alam.

The six convicted are - Md Mokhlesur Rahman Mukul, Md Saidur Rahman Ratan, Shamsul Haque Fakir, Nurul Haque Fakir, Md Sultan Mahmud Fakir and Nakib Hossain Adil Sarker. 

The tribunal held the trial in absentia as all the six accused are yet to be arrested, Prosecutor Tapos Kanti Baul said.

The first tribunal on December 5, 2018, framed six charges of crimes against humanity and on February 18, 2019, started recording depositions of the witnesses. The court on different hearing dates examined total 19 witnesses in the case.
