PBI to probe case against Prothom Alo journalist Rozina

A Dhaka court on Monday asked the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) for further investigating the case filed against Prothom Alo reporter Rozina Islam under the Official Secrets Act.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain passed the order, asking PBI to submit its probe report on February 28, reports BSS.

The court came up with the order as complainant of the case Shibbir Ahmed Osmani submitted a no-confidence petition against the final report filed by investigation agency detective branch (DB) of police.

DB on July 4, 2022, filed the final report in the case, pleading to relieve Rozina of the charges. The investigation officer in his report said the allegations brought against the accused, were found to be false.
