Presidential election schedule to be announced Wednesday

The schedule for presidential election will be announced on Wednesday, said Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal.

The CEC came up with the disclosure after meeting Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Tuesday.

At a press briefing at his Agargaon office, the CEC said, “Another meeting with Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will be held on Wednesday. Later, the election schedule for presidential elections will be announced.”

Earlier in the day, the CEC held a meeting this afternoon with the Speaker at the Speaker's office at Sangsad Bhaban. Senior Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat Abdus Salam and Secretary of the Election Commission Jahangir Alam were present at this time.
