Pallabi metro station opened to traffic

The Mirpur's Pallabi Station opened to commuters on Wednesday, almost a month after the Dhaka metro train service started running.

The Uttara North Station to Pallabi, Pallabi to Uttara, and Agargaon to Pallabi commuter routes are now open, according to DMTCL's Managing Director (MD), MAN Siddique.

In addition, the metro rail schedule has been modified to run from 8:30am to 12:30pm rather than from 8:00am to 12:00pm due to increasing passengers’ demand.

He said the gates opened at 8:00 am for ticket sales.

He added that a Tk 30 charge has been set by the government for travel between Agargaon and Pallabi, Pallabi and Uttara, and Uttara and Pallabi.

There was no stoppage from Uttara North station to Agargaon station when the government began the limited operation of metro train service on December 28 of last year.

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) estimates that Kamalapur would have metro rail service by 2025 and Motijheel by the end of 2024.
