15 to get Bangla Academy Award 2022

Fifteen individuals have been awarded the Bangla Academy Literary Award-2022 for their outstanding contribution in different spheres of literature.

The academy announced the names of the award recipients in a press release issued here on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the awards at the inaugural ceremony of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair-2023 scheduled to begin on February 1, said the release.

The award recipients are: Faruk Mahmud and Tarik Sujat (jointly in poetry), Tapash Mazumder and Parvez Hossain (jointly in fiction), Masuduzzaman (essay/research), Alam Khorshed (translation), Milon Kanti Dey and Farid Ahmad Dulal (jointly in drama), Dhruba Esh (juvenile literature), Muhammad Shamsul Haque (research on Liberation War), Subhash Singh Roy (research on Bangabandhu), Mokaram Hossain (science/science fiction/environmental science), Iktiar Chowdhury (biography/reminiscences/travelogue) and Abdul Khalek and Muhammad Abdul Jalil (jointly in folklore).
