No security threats over Amar Ekushey Book Fair: DMP commissioner

Khandker Golam Faruk, the commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, stated that there is no special security danger centering the Amar Ekushey Book Fair.

He said this when reviewing the security preparations at the fair venue on Tuesday.

“But if any writer or publisher fears about their security or feels threatened, we will keep a check on them,” he said.

The DMP chief claimed that, aside from the fair itself, more places are now covered by CCTV cameras.

According to Faruk, visitors must pass through arches to enter the venue at the Suhrawardy Udyan and Bangla Academy premises.
